Design and Build Quality
Now, lets have a look at those cool looking audio jewels beckoning me to grab them.
The design style created by Meze Audio is very much aligned with my personal preferences, a bold yes elegant style.
Not trying to show off, but retaining a reserved confidence of its own quality of class. Some other brands try to ‘Wow’ you into their designs with fancy plates/gold or sparkles and in our opinion miss the audiophile audience mark by a mile.
Meze Audio knows their audience and have smashed the ball out of the stadium with their Rai Penta design style.
Full metal dark blue anodized navy coloured futuristic looking shells with all the curves in the right places.
The smooth edge contours perfect to the touch and you can identify each shell side just by touch as your right index finger intuitively grabs the right shell and the same for the left shell.
The blue reflects the light with a beautiful sheen bringing forth the precise clean etched out logo showing the aluminium material underneath.
Contrasting with a clean boldness, the tri bore nozzles are a matt silver style with ultra-high precision machining with the bore holes and with the lip to hold your ear tips in-place.
Throughout they are extremely smooth with zero imperfections in colouring or surface variance.
You will notice 2 circular silver well placed holes on the inner side of each shell, these are the pressure equalization system (PES).
Designed to carefully manage internal airflow both on the front and back of the driver placements.
Again, the machining tolerance levels on these PES ‘Vents’ are extremely precise and implemented with detailed research and great care.
This futuristic style makes me fee like these have rippled through a quantum worm hole to our time from an interstellar point in time, maybe via a tesseract, awesome!
The synergy of a refined design and ergonomics is a marvel of form and function.
