Acoustune HS1501AL and HS1551CU earphone reviews – Industrial Immersion

Acoustune have just released some impressive looking dynamic driver in ear earphones the HS1501AL and the HS1551CU models

These striking industrial looking dynamic driver earphones are made and engineered in Japan.

Both models were released on the 18 June 2017.

Features:

3rd Generation Myrinx membrane thinning process to create a more uniform thin film as well as an optimised Myrinx dirver structure for more precise resolution, richer sound field and reduced noise and distortion effects.

Modular metal body design completely separates the acoustic chamber (containing driver) and the mechanical housing for less interference, stronger housing strength and ensure easier maintenance.

The chamber is fitted with a profile metal rod for less resonance and to assist with dampening.

Using the expertise of a Japanese audio cable expert, Acoustune have a newly designed OFC cable ensuring less conductor resistance and excellent usability. 114 of fine pitch OFC wires are triple shielded for reduction of both noise across the full frequency spectrum and minimised audio signal transmission loss in order to deliver clarity of sound. These utilise precision MMCX connectors to ensure longevity and durability for sustained use.

Engineered and assembled in Japan.

Packaging/Presentation/Accessories/Cables

The packaging has an outer sleeve proudly showing of the ‘Made in Japan’ status.

The back of the box has the earphone specifications,package contents shown in both English and Japanese.

Inside the outer packaging there is a solid looking metal case with the acoustune name present on a metal plate.

Opening the box reveals the impressive looking reflective metal industrial style earphones, well protected with precisely machined foam.

Lifting the foam insert cover reveals the high quality brown leather case with a high end feel to it. The quality MMCX 3.5mm single ended cable is coiled around the foam raised circular block.

The case has a leather strip for securing the cables when not in use, there is also a Velcro branded cable tie also supplied

Tip selection and build is very impressive and these tips are produced by Acoustune – called the AET07 tips.

The case supplied with the blue Acoustune models have a different blue finish along with the blue cable tie.

For review purposes we also elected for the 4.4mm balanced connector to use with the excellent Sony NW-WM1Z high end audio player

Using the high end 4.4mm Pentaconn jack to ensure solid connection to the player.
