Build Quality/Design/Ergonomics
Well initial impression of this design is Wow, Wow and triple Wow.
We really love the slightly Steampunk vent style of the Comets. The CNC precision and artistic curves are very industrial and elegant at the same time.
Made in stainless steel and drop forged. Then CNC machined before being hand polished to a mirror finish. These are very impressive and portray high end quality.
I know many in-ear fans have has bad experiences with MMCX connectors, these ones are really solid feeling with tight flush fitting connections. So don’t be put off that these are not 2-PIN.
This was a conscious decision from Campfire Audio and they use custom Beryllium Copper MMCX which they say eliminates the traditional shortcomings of the connection and harnesses all of its benefits.
Beryllium Copper provides a robust mating mechanism; one that is typically made from soft brass. This selection of a harder material extends the life of the component and the earphone.

Using the tangle-resistant cable design from the Polaris model, they have added a new 3-Button control + mic system for smartphone/mobile use.
The Non Mic Copper Litz cables sells for $149, so to see this included with the Comet is really good value to get this premium cable with Copper Conductors, Berylium Copper MMCX and 3.5mm Stereo Plug.
Campfire have created a 3D modeled Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber (T.A.E.C), designed to help the upper highs breathe better.
Sounds cool and certainly looks the part.
These feel solid, durable, low profile easy to wear and have a timeless industrial style that we love.
We love the design so much if you could make one in copper for us that would be great. See our mock up below!
