Hidizs AP80 Pro Review – Compact Power
Sound Quality and Functionality
Rather than talk through all the screen functions I decided it would be better to video record the main areas of interest and you can then see for yourself the operations.
These videos all run in real time with no speeding up in any places, as you can see the responsiveness is very impressive and I have no complaints at all.
Using a Samsung 2.4″ IPS HD screen the AP80 Pro renders images well and is pretty responsive for its size.
As you can see from the video the main screen icons are large and easy to see, although I feel their style feels a little dated, hopefully these can be changed in later firmware updates.
As the touch screen is small you have to be quite precise when selecting certain options. The player does not use standard android OS so you will not be able to load APKs and all apps will be shipped in firmware updates.
In addition to the Hiby 3.0 main player application, there is also a Step counter for tracking your step activity and an FM radio app.
The main audio player application is fairly comprehensive supporting detailed equaliser and MSEB, which is a selection of chosen algorithms based on parametric equaliser settings to help change audiophile core ranges of the sound spectrum.
The impact on sound signature is significant and this section should certainly help owners to configure a sound profile that is unique to their ears audio perceptions and personal preferences.
