Asking the engineers about their thoughts on the Mach 70 model:
The ES70 is a very popular model within the customs line, particularly in the Pro Audio space amongst drummers, bassists, and percussionists. It tends to appeal to both performers and listeners that seek out a more pronounced foundation to their music. The Mach 70 provides that listening experience in a universal form factor.
The Mach 70 was designed to be the bassier little brother (or sister) to the Mach 80. It shares a lot of the same drivers but has a single, large, Bass driver.
The Mach 70 has the most low end output of the entire line. In the Pro Audio space, this one is, by far, the most popular with percussionists, drummers and bass players. I’ve found that many hi-fi listeners consider this the most “fun” earphone in the line.
The Mach 70, emphasised everything the 60 has to offer and gives it all more punch especially when it come to the bass impact, technically solid and detailed but with that extra sprinkle of musical magic and surprisingly versatile across a range of musical genres.
Abundant with depth and expression the Mach 70 IEMs are about musicality. Relaying a very natural feel that carries a solid dynamic engaging presence to them.
These are able to deliver a balanced large style with relaying an energetic blend of detail and richness of mid range, especially with large bit rate high end well mastered tracks.
The slightly impactful strong signature does portray an interesting spacious airy large stage presence while keeping precise micro detail and decent treble extension.
Percussive instruments are handled expertly and realistically, staying organic and natural in character. The dynamic nature of the navigation of pace in this area really lends the Mach 70 to an energetic style while not being overly bright.
The energy is balanced and gives more weight to the accessibility of these earphones, resulting in the ‘Fun’ signature style.
Bass texturing is rich and well layered, delivering the right amount of strength to give a decent size of body to the experience.
No range bleed is encountered and being a 7 driver model there is something quite unique offered in the Mach series that will appeal to many owners.
I can certainly see musicians being drawn to the Mach 70 and using them on stage, as well as everyday users being drawn to these as well.
They work well on all genres of music, have a non fatiguing ease of use and really are musically vibrant with their unique energetic sound style.
Satisfying both the professional and casual listener with its special blend, what a wonderful in ear monitor to experience.
